Our client is a leading, global FMCG organisation with ambitions to continue expanding their presence across the ASEAN region. This role will be based full-time in Thailand, one of the Group's focus market.Job DescriptionIn relation to the region (General):
Oversight and co-ordination of all Legal & Compliance matters
Advice and guidance on all Legal & Compliance matters
Manage Legal & Compliance budget
Input into and implement policies, principles and strategy developed at Global & Regional level
Participate in general management as a member of the Management Team
Manage and lead the regional Legal & Compliance Team (if any)
Give value added advice to stakeholders
Manage external counsel and create relationships with Governmental & strategic Commercial Chambers.
In relation to the Legal and Compliance role:
Act as role model for Compliance and promote the topic
Educate and hold accountable the GM and other members of the lead team(s) on their (external) legal and (internal) compliance obligations
Set up the local compliance management system and implement annual targets.
Drive the local Compliance Risk Assessment and involve the other members of the local management teams and GM accordingly
Implement Global Guidelines and provide regular information on the compliance management system
Implement corporate training material and ensure regular communication on compliance topics
Encourage people to raise/ report compliance concerns and manage local compliance incidents/ cases and take appropriate sanctions
Ensure the correct, timely and complete input for the legal & compliance reporting
The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree or higher in Law, a certified lawyer is a plus.
Over 10-year experience as a legal counsel including 5-year experience as internal counsel to a multi-national corporation.
Prior experience working in the FMCG, F&B, Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device industries highly favourable
Strong communication skills with fluency in English and Thai
Maintains the careful balance of taking legal decisions while also factoring in practical business directions
Outstanding leadership capabilities, ability to communicate a compelling vision and drive results while developing a strong team
A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally at a regional/global scale within the Group
Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced, results-oriented environment under minimal supervision
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating your ability to assess and understand complex legal issues, and provide strategic advice.
