Design Engineer (Plastics Injection Mould)

• Responsible for plastics injection mould design review, mould modification and jig and fixture design by collating and exercising customers' criteria, moulding and producing factors to achieve the quality product in time.
• Review product design concept to ensure it feasibility for moulding, provide improvement proposal if necessary. Provide design of Manufacturing (DFM) where moulds will typically run in high productivity operations for extended tool life.
• Review plastics injection mould design and provide improvement if necessary, plastic mould modification and jig and fixture design to support production and QA measurement fixture using CAD system.
• Review DFM & mould design with customer.
• Liaise with external suppliers on mould design concept and fabrication time-line.
• Advise Sales & Marketing on the feasibility of the plastic product and assist them in the tooling quotation.
• Review dimension report after mould testing and discuss on the mould improvement and repair.
• Assist mould maintenance in troubleshooting, identify problem and recommend improvement for problematic moulds.
• Review current running tooling design and propose quality and productivity improvement.
• Maintain proper documentation of product drawing file.
• Assist to source and develop local mould making supplier.
• Any other duties & responsibilities as and when assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial or related field. Plastic technology preferred.
• 5 years' experience in precision injection molding, experience in handling project for Automotive industries preferred.
• Good knowledge in PPAP, APQP, FMEA etc.
• Dynamic, active and able to work under pressure.
• Good problem-solving skill.
• Good commend of spoken & written English.
• Hand on experience in injection molding or mold making is plus.
• Knowledge in SAP, ISO 9001 / IATF16949
