
Senior AS400 & Cobol Support Developer

- Monday to Friday, with the possibility of working on weekends and public holidays (compensation day given). Shift rotation will be implemented in the future.
- Responsible for resolving and supporting incidents raised by the helpdesk to ensure the timely availability of critical transactions.
- Modify existing or create new Cobol AS/400 and AS/400 jobs to generate new data extracts based on evolving client needs and business requirements.
- Monitor and manage job scheduling workflows on Control-M and AS/400.
- Analyze log files to detect errors and define troubleshooting steps.
- Handling unexpected situations and ensuring timely problem resolution.
- Take corrective actions to restore system operations, including rerunning or bypassing failed jobs.
- Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule within the team to provide support outside of regular working hours as required.
- Participate in daily sessions (including after work hours or night-time) to discuss updates, job statuses, and troubleshooting steps with the team to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution.
- Manage tasks and track progress using Kanban board.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on COBOL, AS/400.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer science, IT, or related field.
- Strong programing on COBOL and SQL/DB2, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of CL/CLLE, SQL/400, QMQRY, Control-M, TAATOOL, JIRA, ServiceNow, FTP
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without supervision.
- Able to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
- Time management and organizational skills, especially in handling incidents and prioritizing tasks.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Able to cover weekends and public holidays work if assigned.

- Previous experience working with Western company.
- Previous experience working with remote team.
