The Deputy General Manager (DGM) will play a critical leadership role in establishing, launching, and operating DayOne data center business in Thailand. This role supports the General Manager and oversees day‑to‑day operations, regulatory readiness and compliance, local market and policies insights, project delivery, and commercial execution and alignment with centralized corporate functions to ensure the successful development and performance of the Thailand data center operations.Key ResponsibilitiesStart‑Up & Project Execution
  • Support end‑to‑end project management and risk management for the design, construction, fit‑out, and commissioning of the new data center.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and external supply chain to ensure milestones are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee design compliance, technical standards, construction delivery, capacity planning, and operational readiness.
  • Directed multi‑phase data‑center development programs, overseeing contractor performance, regulatory compliance, safety standards, risk mitigation, and workforce planning.
  • Support the end‑to‑end planning, construction, and commissioning of large‑scale data centers, partnering with engineering, design, real estate, and operations teams to ensure on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
  • Vendor governance & supply chain risk
Resources
  • Keep a pulse on the local Thai DC market development
  • Identify and secure the resources for future pipelines.
  • Sustainability & energy optimization
Operations Leadership
  • Support the operations team, including engineering, facilities management, security, and service operations.
  • Develop, review, improve and establish process and procedures as deemed necessary by the General Manager
  • Set up preventive and predictive maintenance programs to support high availability.
  • Stress test and audit the operation for early risk detection.
  • Business continuity & DR leadership
Commercial & Customer Management
  • Support business development, customer onboarding, SLAs, and service delivery.
  • Work closely with sales and commercial teams to support RFP responses and customer technical due diligence.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and manage escalations.
  • Commercial terms and contractual risk management.
  • Trending the DC pricing, currencies, exchange rate, economies outlook and the utilities pricing in Thailand and region.
  • Competitive intelligence & pricing strategy
Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with Thailand’s data center, safety, environmental, tax, permits and energy regulatory frameworks.
  • Support certifications such as ISO, SOC, PCI, or Uptime Institute standards.
  • Mapping the permits, regulatory, incentives, BOI, EEC, for Thai DC business.
  • Manage operational permits, business registration, risk, business continuity, and incident response frameworks.
  • Stakeholders mapping and relationship development plan.
  • Cybersecurity alignment
  • Internal controls & governance
Financial & Administrative Management
  • Assist in budgeting, cashflow forecast, cost control, P&L management, and operational reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance and support corporate governance requirements and maintain good relationships with creditors.
  • Prepare biweekly reports and monthly reports to senior leaderships.
  • KPIs tracking and staff training and management.
Strategic Leadership
  • Act as second‑in‑command to the General Manager, taking executive leadership responsibility in their absence.
  • Drive organizational culture, talent development, and operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Developing the quantitative assessment framework.
  • Build up the local talent and vendor pool and pipeline.
  • Be the leader that the team can rely on and look upon.
  • Be the face of DayOne and represent DayOne to engage authorities and customers.
  • Highly motivated problem solver, able to set up a system of working, self-accountable, hands-on.
Collaboration with Centralized Corporate Functions
  • Work closely with centralized corporate functions such as HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Procurement, and Compliance to ensure aligned operational processes and governance.
  • Serve as the local point of coordination to translate group policies into local execution models suitable for the Thailand market.
  • Partner with group-level engineering, security, and product teams to maintain alignment with global standards, technology roadmaps, and operational frameworks.
  • Ensure timely reporting and communication to corporate headquarters and functional leaders.
  • Digitalization & automation roadmap
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Partner with EHS team to establish and maintain safety programs, emergency response procedures, and environmental management systems suitable for a mission‑critical facility.
  • Promote a culture of safety, awareness, and accountability across all staff, contractors, and vendors.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in data centers, critical infrastructure, telecommunications, or cloud operations.
  • Experience with local authorities permitting and business operation.
  • Proven leadership experience in start‑ups or early‑stage operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data center facility design, electrical/mechanical systems, and operational frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and team leadership capabilities.
  • Fluency in English and Thai is required
