Production Scheduling: Collaborate with production supervisors and managers to develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, production capacity, and inventory levels.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure adequate stock availability for production while minimising excess inventory and associated costs.
Resource Allocation: Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and personnel required for production activities
Production Coordination: Act as a liaison between production, quality assurance, and other relevant departments to address any production-related issues, ensure adherence to production schedules, and facilitate smooth work flow.
Data Analysis: Analyse production data, including production output, cycle times, downtime, and scrap rates, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inventory logs, and work orders. Prepare regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as production yield, on-time delivery, and resource utilisation.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production processes, reduce waste, and optimise resource utilisation. Identify opportunities for automation or process optimisation to improve overall productivity.
The Successful ApplicantBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field. * Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles within a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic packaging or similar industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, or production planning software.
Strong analytically skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
