In your new role you will:
- Creating and managing production schedules: Planners develop detailed schedules for manufacturing processes, considering factors like demand forecasts, available resources, and production capacity.
- Inventory management: Monitor stock levels, manage material flow, and work to prevent shortages or excesses.
- Coordinating with various teams: Production planners collaborate with production, inventory, logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
- Analyzing demand forecasts: Analyze market trends and sales forecasts to anticipate future needs and adjust production plans accordingly.
- Optimizing workflows: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production process and implement solutions to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Troubleshooting production issues: Investigate and resolve any problems that arise during the production process, such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues.
- Monitoring production progress: Track production against schedules, identify deviations, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Communicating with stakeholders: Keep relevant parties informed about production status, potential issues, and any necessary changes to the plan.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or Business Admin.
- 0-3 years of experience in production planning, inventory control, or related areas is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with production planning software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools is crucial.
- Understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying bottlenecks and developing solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are important for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and make decisions under pressure.
