- Preparing civil / structural engineering design calculations and documents
- Ensure that the quality of design calculations and drawings produced are in accordance with the Project Execution Plan, applicable Project Procedures and Standards, Safety and Quality Control
- Preparing technical specifications for review and approval
- Preparing Material take off for cost estimate
- Visiting job - sites to evaluate site, project requirements and conditions
- Execute assigned work in accordance with the Project Execution Plan, applicable Project Procedures and Standards, including Wood and / or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man - hour and cost budgets and in accordance with project schedule targets
- Liaise with the Project Co - ordinating Engineer regarding the interpretation of Clients Specifications and Standards and prepare or assist in the preparation of Clients Specifications and Standards for design, materials and construction
- Review the project execution schedule developed by the Cost and Planning Department and to develop the detailed schedule for Civil Engineering and Design activities
- Responsible for administration and immediate direction of civil engineering and designers on a project. Participate in design and checking work as required
- Ensure that the quality of design calculations and drawings produced for enquiry and construction purposes on projects where he is assigned are of the specified standard
- Prepare requisitions for sub - contracts and procurement of materials and submit sub - contract requisitions to Consultant or Manager, Civil Engineering for review and approval before issue
- Distribute Subcontractors documentation to the various Engineering and Drawing Office Groups and co - ordinate their comments. Prepare consolidated comments and return these to the Subcontractor
- Review Subcontractors and Suppliers quotations, participate in clarification meetings, prepare technical quotation evaluation and recommend the final technically acceptable Subcontractor, in conjunction with Subcontracts / Materials Management Departments commercial quotation evaluation. Technically approve Purchase Order Variation Summaries
- Hold co - ordination meetings with the Construction Department during the design phase and provide assistance to site when requested during the construction phase of a project
- Liaise with the Project Engineer regarding information required by the Design Engineers and CAD Group. Liaise with other Groups and Client as necessary
- Check and ensure the operation of the team to ensure work satisfies the project requirements, Company Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and Quality Policy
- Carry out training in the form of a number of short presentations to facilitate specialist skills transfer
- Proven experience in Module Design will be an advantage
- Bachelor or higher Degree in Civil Engineering with proven lead engineer role experience in refinery / petrochemical industries
- Min 10 years of experience in relevant civil, structural, architectural works
- Min 10 years of expertise in refinery / petrochemical with onshore tank farm & tank terminals in relation with Jetty design/interface work
- Extensive experience covering project phases from Pre - FEED through FEED / FEED / EPC / EPCM
- Strong technical skill and fully capable to lead project execution for Civil Group in multi - discipline / cultural organization
- Proven experience in successfully led the team on the projects. Worked in a range of refineries, gas, petrochemical plants for various local and international clients is a preference
- Very good command in English
- Expert with Staad Pro software package
- Experience and knowledgeable in various international design codes, i.e., ACI, AISC, API, British Standards, JIS, DIN, IBC, Euro Code, UBC, etc.
- Experience in the design of steel structure, heavy foundation, equipment foundation, concrete tabletop structures, blast - resistant structures, and dynamic analysis of machinery foundations, etc
